WellbeingMerthyr are a charitable trust that was formed in 2015 to manage and develop the leisure and cultural facilities within Merthyr Tydfil on behalf of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. WellbeingMerthyr is led by Chief Executive Jane Sellwood, and board of Trustees with diverse backgrounds, all of whom are committed to ensuring we continue to improve and develop our facilities and services for the local community.

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC)
Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is the governing body for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. The vision for MTCBC is to strengthen Merthyr Tydfil’s position as the regional centre for the Heads of the Valleys, and be a place to be proud of where:

Alliance Leisure
Established over 22 years ago, Alliance Leisure Services is the leading ‘Development Partner’ in the leisure industry, and has unrivalled experience in delivering projects, having delivered over 220 projects and facilitated the investment of over £300m into public sector facilities with projects ranging in value from £60,000 to over £30,000,000.
Alliance Leisure are the appointed delivery partner for the UK Leisure Framework which is managed by Denbighshire Leisure.

Transforming Towns
The Transforming Towns grant is for projects to redevelop and improve town centres or their nearby areas. The grant was announced in 2020 with £90 million of additional investment allocated as part of a new Welsh Government approach to transforming town centres across the country.
The grant has been made available for:
• Developing underused empty or run-down properties into businesses, housing, leisure centres, commercial premises or community facilities
• Improving the appearance of properties and / or reshaping them to make them more viable
• Improving existing premises by introducing innovative services and connectivity, such as highspeed broadband, which will attract businesses

Salix
Salix supports energy efficiency and decarbonisation improvements for public sector bodies, such as local authorities and NHS foundation trusts, helping them to reduce carbon emissions in line with the government’s 2030 net zero target.
Salix Finance offer 0% interest free loans with typically a payback term of 8 years to successful applicants.
